It WILL lock to time code and you can record the automation directly into the mixer but obviously this requires different routing than one would normally use when mixing in the box. If you have Sonar 6, you can use it as a generic ACT controller to learn all the fader movements, then set up ACT to matching mode so you don't get stuff jumping all over the place.
